Meaningful Memorials
The week before Mom's funeral was busy with meaningful preparations. I wrote an article about Mom and paid to have it run in the local newspaper along with her photo. I pulled out all the photos of Mom. Betty scanned them into the computer and prepared various pictorial collage posters of her life story.
Just six days before Mom died, a family friend used his professional quality digital video camera to record an interview I conducted with my Mom where she told how she met my Dad and how it changed her life. I edited a shortened version of it on my computer to show at the funeral service. The local Macintosh user group loaned me a big screen projection system for free. It added a lot to the service to show footage of her laughing and talking about her life.
