Shopping and Eating Out
While we are playing golf, Betty and Mom would sometimes go shopping. Mom never bought any new clothes. She bought "replacement" clothes. Mom loved going to restaurants. We would thrill her with some of the really interesting restaurants we found like the Legends Vegetarian Dim Sum Restaurant in China Town and Hoku's restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Going to the Movies
Mom loved going to movies. Dad didn't like movies. And she felt guilty going without him. Once when he was in the hospital for a medicine check, I talked her into going to the movies. Two movies. Once her former boss invited her to a ladies banquet. I persuaded Mom to go. She had a great time, guilt free, since we were with Dad. MORE>
